wh distant smFor WOODHENGE PORTENT, nature rushed ahead of us in creating an artwork.

Decades ago someone dug in these standing wooden poles, purpose unknown.

They weathered slowly until a massive stringbark crashed one wet winter. Another giant tree felled by a storm delivering a provocative frame for a thoughtful land art piece.

The trunk landed squarely on a wooden pole and this tree is still growing, sideways and upwards, spiritual in its existence and persistence – shades of Stonehenge.
